Connected Hearts Discipleship Resource. For Children and Youth. Reviewed By Bex Jignasu

Connected Hearts is a discipleship curriculum resource intended to be used within the church for children and young people of faith. It is designed to develop the faith of children and young people to enable them to grow in their faith and to then live out their faith with actions to others.

This resource can be used as part of a regular Sunday school curriculum or with a discipleship group.

The structure of the resource is similar to other curriculum-based resources: It offers the leaders a structured pickup and use format, with little preparation required. The resource is designed that the leader shares their own experience and faith with the children and young people as part of the sessions.

As with other church group material it starts with ideas for catch up and opening games.

It gives leaders ways to introduce the theme and teaching point, this then leads in to the Bible input and discussion. Following on with ideas for a response from the children and young people. Ending with an activity of craft or art. It also offer ideas for the leaders to encourage the children and young people to put into practice what they have learnt and express their growing faith through actions.

The resource covers three different age groups: children 5 to 10 yrs, younger youth 11 to 14 yrs and older youth 14 to 18 yrs. It also includes teacher notes.

This resource is not free, it costs £50 per term per age group, but there are offers if you buy a whole years’ worth of the curriculum.
