Alternative Halloween Kids Activities review by Becky Lawrence
Halloween is usually about scares, darkness, witches, ghosts, gore and trick or treats – but for us as Christians we want to focus on something very different – the light that God shines through us and how we can believe in others & encourage them rather than scare them. No tricks, no scares and no creepy costumes but light and goodness. With God no matter how much darkness there is we don’t need to be afraid because God loves us and will always be with us.
Here’s some suggestions of material you could use to put together an in person or online kids session next week (or use with your own kids at home) as a positive non scary Halloween alternative.

World Vision Pumpkin Heroes Pack
This pack that is updated every year comes with a bunch of activities, games, video and story themed around a character named Patch the pumpkin. This material helps children focus on Gods light shining through them to help them encourage others.
I’m using this one next week with my Kids group, I’ve edited and written my own plan based on the Pumpkin Heroes material.
