In Search of Christmas QR code trail review by Bex Jignasu
In search of Christmas – Scripture Union resource reviewed by Bex Jignasu, Youth and Childrens Volunteer at Loughton Baptist Church
This is a Christmas theme treasure hunt for children and families, using a series of videos to encourage conversation and help crack a code. Videos are accessed by scanning QR codes which are placed in locations around the local area. Groups or families then find the QR codes as they explore the local area. This resource is fun, interactive and engages children in exploring, walking, and sharing their thoughts on the Christmas story.
This is similar to the in Search of Hope Resource that Scripture Union did earlier in the year that we reviewed here on our Youthwork+ website.
At Loughton Baptist Church we intend to use this in Christmas week for the families in the area and from our local primary school. We will book time slots for when they can come to the church to pick up their first clue. They can then go on a trail around the village to find the other clues and come back to the church for a Christmas goodie bag. We will update our recommendation again once we’ve used it to let you know how we got on!
