I dont know about you but i am always on the hunt for material we can use with the same theme across all of our ages, we’ve found it works a lot better for family conversations at home and you know the same content is being explored across all ages of the church.  Your whole church can journey together using the same teaching material.  This new resource from the Bible Society, Kingsgate and Hope Together looks really promising – plus it’s free – which is a huge win for churches with small budgets for resources!

The Bible series is A 7-part journey through the big story of the Bible for your whole church.  The theme of this resource is the second great thing about it – so often we focus on a particular person, book or story from the Bible but this one takes you on a journey through the Bible helping you explore together the grand theme of the Bible of a God with a plan who loves his people.  Looking at the Bible like this allows people to discover the overarching story within the 66 books of The Bible and discover for the first time or rediscover the wonder of the God within it.   The resource comes with testimony films, small group resources, youth films, childrens lesson plans and other resources which is a lot of resources to get for free – this is great value.  The material can also be used online or in person which gives more flexibility for anyone still doing any groups online.

Here’s what Bible Society say about the resource:

“The story of life is full of questions – what brings freedom, peace and hope for the future? Help your church and community experience a better story by discovering the enduring relevance of the Bible. In partnership with KingsGate Church and Hope Together, we’re offering free resources including:

  • Powerful testimony films
  • Sermon resources
  • Small group films and discussion guide
  • Youth film series
  • Children lesson plans
  • Spoken word series
  • Series book by Andrew Ollerton

Over seven weeks, The Bible Series introduces people to the overall story of the Bible. Each week touches on key themes and relates them to universal human needs. In view of this, we recommend inviting guests (in church or online) so that they too can experience the power and relevance of the Bible. A suite of flexible creative resources is available for you to select and use to craft your services. Think of it as a menu and choose what you think will work best in your context.”
