Try Praying Children’s Booklet
This children’s resource is part of the ‘try praying’ evangelism campaign.
This resource can be used as the ‘try praying’ website says: to enable kids to share their faith and churches to do missions. It is set out as a seven-day guide to prayer.
Day 1: Praying Anywhere
Day 2: Praying Anytime
Day 4: Thanking God
Day 5: God’s answers – Yes, No, Wait
Day 6 Hard times
Day 7 The Lord’s Prayer as a guide.
I think it is a great resource to use in church with children over two or three group sessions to help children think about and engage in prayer. Rather than getting children to use the booklet on their own a leader can us the booklet to run some church group sessions.
As the booklet is divided into seven days it can be split into two or three sessions combining two or three days together into one session. Enabling the children to work through the different parts of prayer in each group session.
I think combining the introduction with days 1, 2 and 3 makes for one session, the remaining 4 days can be another single session or split further into two sessions.
Leaders can use the activities, questions, and puzzles in the booklet to help shape the sessions. Enabling the child to engage in the prayer activities together.
The booklet can still be given to the children at the end of the sessions as reminder of what was covered in the sessions about prayer.
The booklets are reasonably priced. Get them from the Try Praying website.
