Faithfuls a traitors inspired Bible smuggling youth group game – by Open Doors Youth
Faithfuls is a youth group game inspired by the popular Traitors TV series and combines the concept with the lives of real-life underground Bible smugglers and secret Christians from around the world.
Through three simple challenges, the Faithfuls must try and safely deliver as many Bibles as possible to an underground church network, all while trying to identify the Spies, who are attempting to sabotage their efforts! Want to give your youth group a night like no other? Order your free Faithfuls leader guide now! (link at the bottom of the page)
Faithfuls can be played with a minimum 10 players and is suitable for groups with both Christians and non-Christians.
Persecution can be a heavy topic, so this Faithfuls game provides some fun and creative group challenges that help young people connect with the reality many followers of Jesus around the world face. We pray that in running Faithfuls, you and your group will be inspired by what God is doing globally through the suffering church, and you’ll feel more connected with your persecuted family. We love this game and concept – its fresh, its exciting and it combines the traitors game concept with the real life work of Open Doors helping young people realise and learn that there are persecuted christians around the world. Best of all this game is free! and we love a freebie! You can download it or request a printed version in the post.
A youth group night like no other…
Turn your weekly youth group meeting into a tense evening of challenges, where your Faithful young people must work together to expose the devious Spies and smuggle as many Bibles as they can to a secret underground Church network.
What does it look like?
The game is inspired by the hit TV show Traitors, but with some key differences. Over the course of 60-80 minutes, the group will receive their secret roles, take on three simple Bible smuggling challenges, face being blacklisted and head to several Round Table discussions where they vote to try and expose the Spies.
Sounds fun, but is it a lot of work?
Good question. We’ve tried to make the challenges and set up as simple as possible, but as with any session you’ll need to do some prep (like reading through the guide, printing off the role cards, score sheets, name lists and assets for some of the challenges). We’ve created a script for the evening, along with some videos to introduce the challenges, but for it to go really well, you’ll need to channel your inner Claudia Winkelman, get your head round the rules and challenges and get stuck in. And yes, you can wear a wig with a strong fringe.
Who is it for?
Young people and small groups. Whilst the game is about smuggling Bibles and explores how Christians are facing persecution, it’s very light touch and has been designed to work with both Christian and non Christian groups.
Anything else I should know?
To play Faithfuls, you’ll need at least 10 young people and a few extra bits (like pens, Bibles, ping pong balls and cups). But it’s all pretty straightforward.
