Kleer video series for youth review by Dave Boden
Kleer Video Series review by Dave Boden, Director at Grace Foundation and Pastor at Mosaic Church, Coventry
My name is Dave Boden, and I lead a schools work charity called Grace Foundation working with 6000 students and I am also a Pastor at Mosaic Church, Coventry. I am also the cocreator of Kleer Series, a video-based series of conversation starters that are designed for use with young people aged 11-18. The vision of Kleer Series is to kick start spiritual conversations with the 95% of UK young people who are not yet connected into a local church community
Each of the short videos use presenters, visual storytelling or bible verses & poetry to facilitate discussions about spirituality, identity, purpose and faith. The latest collection of videos entitled ‘Is Jesus…?’ are designed to be used with young people in a group of any size in any context online or in person and help start conversations about Jesus. Young people watch one or more videos together and discuss the questions in a way that works for any group.
The new videos feature two young presenters Rhys and Nardos exploring questions such as ‘Is Jesus even real?’ ‘Is Jesus still relevant?’ and ‘Is Jesus a revolutionary?’ There are six new sessions in all and they build on the original set of 24 videos which are ideal for those with little or no church background.
Kleer Series is used in Churches, Youth Groups, Youth Clubs & Small Groups. At Grace Foundation we use Kleer Series videos in school tutor times, lessons, assemblies, and in other outreach settings.
Many youth workers have told us they appreciate the resource for its creativity, flexibility, and meaningful way to start conversations with young people. Pete Baker, National Director of the Pais Movement says “I love the heart and passion of the people at Kleer. They make innovative, creative and excellently produced resources that will spark conversations about the most important questions a young person can ask all within their own school environment.”
Andrew Craven, an Urban Saints Youth Worker, has used the resources with his youth group and said “I just wanted to tell you how brilliant Kleer series has been for our group. We have worked our way through many of the videos. The young people have looked forward to each one and engaged well with the subjects/questions. It has been really easy to link in with other material to make a theme for an evening.”
Kleer Series videos are available via the Kleer Series website, YFC Resources, Scripture Union, Urban Saints Energize or via Open Church Network from Life Church USA.
