Stir Packs & other youth resources from Start to Stir 

Stir is a registered charity with a growing number of resources to help young people explore faith and grow in discipleship.

They say,
“we are a group of stirrers and shakers. We believe the gospel is beautiful and leads to full life. We want to help the Church stimulate curiosity in new ways.”

There are 4 stir packs of resources and each one is designed to help stir spiritual curiosity in young people. It’s aimed at young people who don’t have a faith yet or aren’t sure what they believe.   Because of this they are suitable for use in all different contexts, and have been used in schools, at lunch clubs, youth drop ins and in more overtly christian church based youth work.

Discover your Soul, Stir Pack 1
consists of six experiences that help participants discover the presence of their soul by bubbling up emotions, questions and longings that reveal our true spiritual nature. These include our sense of justice, wondering if we have a purpose and our longing to know we are not alone.

Connect to God, Stir Pack 2
Stir Pack Two introduces participants to the One their soul truly longs for and addresses the question, “How could having faith in God make my life better?” Leaders can choose from eight different sessions. Each session highlights an individual from the past or present who has connected with God, demonstrates the positive difference this has made, and then guides participants to experience the same benefits this person describes. Participants will develop a desire to connect with God, who fulfils our every longing.

Encounter Jesus, Stir Pack 3
Stir Pack Three introduces Jesus, who was fully one with God. A choice of nine different sessions encourage participants to dive directly into the gospel accounts so they can encounter Jesus’, explore his relationship to God the Father and experience first-hand several of the benefits that follow. Participants will be drawn to the person of Jesus and his relationship with God. They will see that wherever Jesus went, true life followed.

Live Full Life, Stir Pack 4
How can we start a connection with God? The six sessions of stir Pack Four not only explain the reality of our sin and separation from God as well as God’s rescue plan to save humans, each session also helps participants experience why our sin matters, how it has caused such a mess and how refreshing and freeing forgiveness can feel. Participants will be invited to join God and His plan by following Jesus as their Leader and Forgiver.

The Discipleship Pack £18
Unsure of what to do after the Stir Course? or Looking for something to use with young people or young adults who already have faith?
The Discipleship Pack is suitable for ages 11 – adult and can be adapted to suit any discipleship relationship. It can be used 1 to 1 or with a small group.
The box contains an introduction booklet that explains how to get started, a spiritual-self assessment tool and 40 topic cards. These cards will help you shape your discipleship sessions by giving you an outline, key scriptures, discussion questions and access to loads more resources.

 

Soul Stirrers Video series 

Their newest resource is called Soul Stirrers – and is a set of free short reflective videos designed for youth cafes, clubs and CU’s. “Are you wondering what it means to be spiritual or thinking about why you should even consider Christian faith? There are clues that God has put deep inside each of us – signposts that can point us to who we are and how we can live life as it was intended. Start here and discover your soul.”

There are currently 8 videos (with more to be added) which feature the themes of, smallness, sex, joy, prayer, underdog, peace, self sacrifice and worship. All 15 Soul Stirrers videos are free and shareable! They don’t assume the viewer has any religious background and they are made to get spiritual conversations started. You can share them with anyone, in any space.

Soul Stirrers Coasters in a tin £28
These coasters will get people talking and sharing their thoughts about each video. Each coaster has a QR code which your participants can scan to watch the Soul Stirrer videos, and your team can use the questions printed on each side as conversations starters. Each cannister comes with 10 coasters for each video in the series with 10 different discussion questions. That’s 150 coasters for you to use, share or giveaway.

Using Soul Stirrers videos as a set of weekly sessions?
Purchase a set of 15 posters to help you run Soul Stirrers as a series in your group. Hang them in your cafe, around campus, or in a prominent place where your groups meets as a way to help promote the Soul Stirrers series, stir people’s curiosity, and highlight the weekly question.
