Try Praying – Youth Booklet

This youth resource is part of the ‘try praying’ evangelism campaign. This resource can be used as the ‘try praying’ website says: to enable youth to share their faith and churches to do missions.
It is set out as a seven-day guide to prayer. But can be used over a longer time as the young person decides.

The booklet is a great resource to help youth engage with prayer, it gives young people a taste of what it is to try praying. It’s been designed for the young person to read a chapter a day.

Each section has someone sharing a story pf prayer in their life, to help the young person relate to the theme of that section. The young person is asked to reflect on each theme and with down their thoughts and to take time to pray through that theme.

The seven sections are:

  • What is praying anyway?

A quick exploration into what prayer is.

  • How do I pray then?

Explanation that there isn’t a formula to praying, anyone can pray anywhere, anytime, about (almost) anything in anyway.

  • Starting right.

Coming to God in confession.

  • Get connected.

Connecting to God through the holy spirit

  • Asking for stuff.
  • Saying thanks.
  • Dad in heaven.

Using the Lord’s prayer

  • Hang on! It doesn’t always ‘work’?

Unanswered prayer.

This is great resource to put into the hands of the youth in your church to help them grow in their prayer lives.

The booklets are reasonably priced at 50 pence each.
