Young Leaders Course

Young Leader Essentials (YLE) from national Christian youth charity Youthscape, helps younger leaders explore what leadership looks like by following the example of Jesus – giving them tools to step into leadership and new responsibilities in churches and youth groups.

Maybe you already have young people serving on youth and kids teams or maybe you have some in mind who you’d like to start. This course is great at equipping young people to serve in leadership roles.

How to use it?

YLE is made up of six sessions covering six different themes of leadership drawn from the life of Jesus.

Each of the Young Leader Essentials sessions will explore an insight into the leadership example of Jesus, a practical youth work skill to build their confidence and ability, and a personal reflection to help develop character and fuel faith.

You could deliver this over 6 sessions or combine it together into one day. Or maybe even as content on a weekend away especially for investing in your young leaders.

Session are designed to be around 75 minutes long and include video content, gamified learning, discussion questions and individual reflection. They’re packed with ways to spark conversation and deeper thinking, creating a space where young people can not only develop leadership skills but also grow in confidence and character. Designed for small groups, the resource helps young people connect, challenge each other, and learn together.
