Yetti game, resource for youth, from YFC
As you know if you follow our resources library additions – we’re always looking for new decent and practical resources for use with children or youth to help as ministry tools for youth or children’s work. Our readers fall into many categories, those who need resources for church based youth work or Sunday school/kids church, those that run activities for young people or children in their community as outreach, and those that run activities with kids/youth in schools – we know everyones requirements are slightly different but we try to find resources that may work across all three contexts.
The resource we’re recommending this time is a new game brought to the world by Youth for Christ (YFC).
Yetti, is one box containing lots of cards featuring photos and words which actually can be used for 7 different games with youth. We think it works pretty well across all three contexts, in church, outside of church and in school perhaps used as part of a lunch club or after school club. it’s one of those games that isn’t just a game but can be a conversation starter to bring up themes that may feel awkward otherwise. This game is a great tool for any youth leader to have in their kit.
Here’s what YFC the creators say about it….
“This is Yetti: seven games about life, faith, and the occasional dog on a skateboard.
In this box you’ll find quick-thinking questions, curious captions and ponderous pictures, giving you everything you need for not one, not two, but seven games (generous of us, we know…).
The wonder of Yetti is that the power is in your hands to mix, match and move into deep faith-based chats or spring into fast-paced games of competition. Yetti exists to not only create a ‘jolly good’ time, but also opportunities for great discussions and a chance for players to connect with God, hear from Him and maybe even experience Him for the first time; whether they believe in Him or not!
Take Yetti to the park, the local fast-food joint, to church or your Nan’s garden. Flexible like an Olympic gymnast, Yetti morphs to be the game you need.”
It’s only £14.99, which is a decent price for a medium sized heavy box of cards which can be used for 7 different games and well worth the investment. buy it here from the YFC shop
