Raising Gen Alpha: Helping Kids Navigate Everything from Anxiety to AI book for parents & leaders
Raising Gen Alpha book by Dave Boden
If you listen to our podcast you’ll know we had Dave Boden on our April 2026 episode unpacking all things Generation Alpha. We discussed what makes Gen Alpha unique & different to the previous generations and how we as parents and youth/kids leaders can understand Gen Alpha and tweak what we do to engage them better and support them in all the best ways. I had the pleasure of reading the book before it came out to write an endorsement for it. I found it a great read, very insightful and agree that it is a very useful tool for any parents of Gen Alpha or anyone who works with them as a childrens or youth worker.
Gen Alpha is anyone born between 2010 and 2024, (anyone roughly aged 2 to 16 right now, as of 2026) primarily the children of Millenials. Gen Alpha are whats being called ‘Digital Natives’, they have been immersed in technology, such as touch screens, iPads and streaming services, since birth – they don’t know a world without them. Every generation grows up slightly different to the one before. Technology, AI and being young during the pandemic has had and is having a big impact on anyone in Gen Alpha, they are more anxious, they find social interaction more difficult, they don’t engage with being told what to think – they want to be involved in and active participants in learning.
In a rapidly changing world, ‘Raising Gen Alpha’ helps parents, pastors, and educators understand, love, and lead today’s children.
Gen Alpha is growing up in a world very different from the one their parents did. Born between 2010-2024, this generation faces intense pressure from school, social media, mental health struggles, and the rapid rise of technology. Despite their deep desire to make a difference, parents, educators, and faith leaders often feel overwhelmed by the growing generational divide. How do we bridge the gap to make a connection and ensure these children and teens feel seen, heard, valued, cared for, and safe?
Using the acronym ALPHA (Anxious-minded, Leading influencers, Pandemic-impacted, Hyperconnected, and AI-shaped) to explain the challenges and experiences that have shaped them, author Dave Boden equips readers to disciple Gen Alpha with clarity, compassion, and confidence. By understanding the world today’s children are growing up in, we’re better prepared to equip them with the faith and insight they need to thrive.
